We believe your jewellery should be worn and loved daily — but that doesn't mean it's indestructible. Crafted from precious metals and gemstones, your ring deserves thoughtful care to preserve its beauty and structure for years to come.

Everyday Wear: When to Remove Your Ring

Although diamonds are among the hardest materials on earth, their settings and the metals holding them are more delicate. Some gemstones also require extra care due to their varying fragility.

For longevity and peace of mind, remove your ring before:

Swimming (Pool or Ocean): Chlorine and salt water can weaken metal settings, tarnish alloys, and dull your stone's brilliance. Cold water also shrinks your fingers, increasing the risk of losing your ring.

Showering or Beauty Routines: Lotions, perfumes, hair products, and soaps leave residue that clouds sparkle and contributes to buildup over time.

Gym & Exercise: Weightlifting or gripping can warp your band and loosen prongs. Sweat and contact surfaces can scratch or dull your ring.

Sleeping: Prongs can catch on sheets or hair, and pressure can weaken the setting over time.

Cooking & Cleaning: Harsh chemicals can damage both metals and stones. Food and grime can also lodge into the setting.

Gardening & DIY: These tasks increase the risk of accidental knocks, metal distortion, or buildup of grit in fine details.

Cleaning Your Ring at Home

Restore your ring’s sparkle in a few easy steps.

What You’ll Need:

~ Mild dish soap

~ Bowl of warm water

~ Soft-bristled toothbrush

~ Lint-free cloth

Steps:

1. Soak your ring in a bowl of warm, soapy water for 5–10 minutes.

2. Gently brush all around the setting and under the stone. Important: If the setting feels loose, skip the brushing and contact us for a check-up.

3. Rinse under clean running water and dry with a lint-free cloth.

Avoid harsh cleaners or abrasives, which can damage both stones and metal. For a deeper clean, use a non-toxic, jewellery-specific cleaner — or bring it in for a complimentary professional clean.

Servicing & Maintenance

We offer complimentary annual servicing for all AG rings to help maintain your ring's structural integrity and shine. This includes:

~ Professional clean and polish

~ Stone tightening (if required)

~ Rhodium re-plating for white gold (additional charges apply)

Storage: How to Keep Your Ring Safe

When you’re not wearing your ring, store it properly to avoid scratches, tarnishing, or damage:

~ Use a soft, fabric-lined box or pouch.

~ Store pieces separately to prevent diamonds from scratching other jewellery.

~ Keep your jewellery stored away from direct sunlight and heat sources to avoid discolouration or warping. Warmer, more humid conditions - like in summer - can accelerate oxidation, so take extra care by storing your pieces properly and cleaning them more frequently during these months.
