Lifetime Warranty

Lifetime Warranty

At Above Ground Jewellery, each piece is crafted with precision, care, and intention. We take great pride in the quality of our work, and for your peace of mind, we offer a Lifetime Warranty that reflects our commitment to lasting craftsmanship.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship that may arise over time. While such issues are rare, we stand behind the integrity of our process and our product.

What Is Covered by Our Lifetime Warranty

Above Ground Jewellery offers a lifetime warranty from the date of purchase against any manufacturing defects on all Gold and Platinum jewellery. Most manufacturing defects reveal themselves within the first few months of wear. Any item confirmed to have a manufacturing fault will be repaired or replaced at no cost.

The following are examples of defects covered under our Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty:

  • Porosity, surface pores, or blemishes in the metal
  • Uneven settings found at time of pick-up or during servicing with us
  • Chips, scratches, or nicks in gemstones visible at time of pick-up or during servicing with us
  • Rhodium plating splashes or stains on the metal found at time of pick-up or during servicing with us
  • Joint failure due to improper casting or welding
  • Loose stones identified at time of pick-up

  6. If a manufacturing fault is confirmed, your shipping deposit will be refunded and the repair carried out at no charge.

To maintain your Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty, your ring must be serviced and inspected annually by Above Ground Jewellery. This includes a professional clean and a structural check to ensure the settings and metalwork remain in sound condition. Regular maintenance helps prevent minor wear from becoming major issues.

What Is Not Covered by Our Warranty

Our warranty does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, unauthorised repairs, or wear and tear over time.

Common issues not considered manufacturing defects include:

  • Dents, abrasions, and surface scratches from everyday wear. Precious metals are malleable and will naturally develop surface marks over time. These signs of wear are expected and not a fault in the craftsmanship. We recommend booking an annual jewellery assessment where our jewellers can ensure your stone settings remain secure. After a professional clean and polish, your ring will look as beautiful as the day you received it.
  • Chips, scratches, or breakages in gemstones caused by knocks or accidental impact. Diamonds are among the hardest materials on earth—but they are not indestructible. A stone can chip or crack if it is struck at the wrong angle, especially along its weakest points (like the girdle or edges). Gemstones set with exposed edges, such as in prong settings, are more vulnerable to damage from knocks or daily wear.
  • Discolouration from exposure to cosmetics, chemicals, or chlorinated water. Substances like chlorine bleach and harsh cleaning agents can erode and pit the metal over time.
  • Fading or wear of metal plating (e.g. rhodium) through regular use.
  • Prongs bent, worn down, or snagged through daily use. Precious metals (especially claws and bands) can wear down over time and may need to be restored as part of normal wear.
  • Prongs that get caught, bent or worn down by everyday wear and allow a stone to fall out.
  • Loss of a gemstone due to everyday wear or impact-related damage.

Please note: Our Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty is void if your piece has been altered by a third-party jeweller or if proof of purchase is not provided.

Jewellery Care

Your jewellery is made to be worn and loved, but caring for it ensures it maintains the life and beauty of your ring. We recommend:

  • Removing your ring during hands-on activities (e.g. sport, cleaning, gardening).
  • Avoiding contact with harsh chemicals, cleaning agents, or abrasive surfaces.
  • Storing your piece in a fabric-lined box or pouch to avoid scratches.
  • Booking an annual service with Above Ground Jewellery for cleaning and inspection.
